  🐾 One More Ride: The Gentle Giant Heads to the Shore Just when we thought our rush of transports was complete, the phone buzzed one more time — and how could we say no? Another pup needed a ride, and this time, it wasn’t just any dog. It was a  Great Dane  — a gentle giant with a heart (and paws) as big as the van! 🚗 From the City Streets to the Seaside Air Our journey began in  New York City (at 6:30am on a Saturday)  where the city was still sound asleep. This sweet Great Dane, Moses, waited patiently, towering over the crate beside him and greeting us with a deep, rumbling “hello.” Despite his size, he climbed in gracefully — ready for his ride to the  Jersey Shore  and a brand-new chapter. The trip south was peaceful, filled with the sound of gentle snores from Moses. What I am sure was quite a site to passersby, was when he would stand up in the back seat to adjust himself or turn around... seeing this huge silhouette appear and disappear mus...

  🚗🐾 Five Transports. Nine Days. Countless Miles of Love. Some weeks remind us exactly why we do what we do. This past stretch —  five transports in just nine days  — was one of those weeks. From early mornings to late-night drop-offs, every mile told a story of hope, teamwork, and second chances. 🚧 Stop #1: Elmsford, NY ➜ NYC (With a Twist!) Transports rarely go exactly as planned — and this one was no exception! A flat tire on the van meant we had to pivot fast and meet  on the side of the New York State Thruway  for pickup. It wasn’t your typical handoff, but in rescue, flexibility is everything. 🐾 Teamwork on the Thruway: Behind the Scenes of a Rescue Transport If there’s one thing that every transport reminds us of, it’s that  rescue is truly a team effort . Today’s journey with  NYC Second Chance Rescue  was no exception — and it took at least  eight amazing people  to make it all happen. From the outside, a transport might just look like a van, a few pups, and a couple of friendly faces handing off a dog to its next stop. But behind the scenes, it’s a symphony of communication, coordination, flexibility, and heart. 💛 The Crew That Made It Happen Today’s transport came together thanks to the combined efforts of: McKayla, our amazing transport driver , who puts in the miles with compassion and care. Adriana , our dedicated  transport coordinator , who works tirelessly to line up every detail and keep everyone in sync. Some transports stick with you, and this one? This one was  one for the books.  Picture this:  13 puppies. Three crates. One person.  And a long journey from New Jersey to Maine. Sounds like a challenge, right? Well, it was—but as always, it was worth every single mile.   The Logistics Nightmare: Finding the Right Car  When I agreed to take on this transport, I thought,  “Sure, I’ve transported puppies before. How hard can it be?”  But I quickly learned that finding a car that could actually fit all three crates was going to be my first major hurdle.   Crates take up a LOT of space, and when you’re moving 13 puppies safely, there’s no room for error. After trying to configure multiple setups in different vehicles, thanks to our amazing friend Phyllis, we finally found one that worked. The puzzle pieces fit, the crates were secured, and I was ready to hit the road.  But if you think that was the hardest part—just wait.  ...
