🌟🐾 Exciting Update on Nico, Our Newest Family Member! 🐾🌟

(trying out this graphic... what do you think?)

Hey everyone! We wanted to share an update now that Nico has been with us for about 3 weeks. It's truly incredible how quickly dogs can adapt to new surroundings and shower us with love and affection. Nico joined our household of 4 people and 3 dogs on May 11th, and he fit right in almost immediately! πŸΆπŸ’•

We initially kept them separated for a few days to let Nico acclimate (don't forget to check out the 3-3-3 rule graphic at the bottom of this post). Despite his rough start after a serious car accident and a traumatic brain injury, Nico's resilience is something to behold. πŸš—πŸ’”➡️πŸΎπŸ’–

You'd think he might be car reactive or scared of loud noises and new people due to the accident, but he isn't! Nico settles down in the car with zero issues and often falls asleep on someone's lap. Having 3 other dogs in the house, it can get loud, but it doesn't phase him. In fact, the other 3 dogs have even taught him to bark – and it's the sweetest little bark ever! πŸ•πŸ—£️

Here's a glimpse into Nico's new life:

🐾 He loves going for walks with his new brothers and sister and meeting new people along the way.

🐾 He adores snuggling up on your chest and falling asleep.

🐾 He enjoys spending time outdoors, especially at the campground. We also had the chance to take him to the beach for the very first time and he loved running in the sand. Just got to be careful with him being so black that he could overheat quickly.

He recently had his first grooming session and was fantastic – and now he looks even more handsome! πŸ›✂️
While 2 of our other dogs aren't totally in love with Nico just yet, they're slowly warming up to him. We even caught them snuggling on the couch the other day, so progress is being made! πŸ›‹️πŸ’ž

Nico is fearless! He runs up and down the stairs with abandon, hops on and off the couch, and even tries to initiate play by parkouring off the other dogs. This little guy stole our hearts from the moment we met him, and he continues to win over everyone he meets a little more each day. πŸΎπŸ’«

MEET MANCHAS

Manchas is a real sweetheart. He can be a little shy, but he comes out of his shell around other pets. We think Manchas would love a home with a furry friend (or two), because he is following his foster buddies around the house like glue. Manchas is 3 years old, 33 pounds, dog and cat-friendly, lower energy, and incredibly sweet. Apply today to learn more about Manchas.

All dogs will be altered, microchipped, and receive age-appropriate vaccines prior to adoption. Please note that the listed location for this dog may not be accurate due to technical limitations of this database and we have transportation options available within 6 hours of NYC (so don't let location hold you back)!

Having a new dog in the house has been such a strange experience. At first, I was mad at my dads and uncles for bringing Nico home. I was mad because for the past 3 years, I have been the center of attention. When I wanted pets or my belly rubbed, all I had to do was roll over or snuggle up to one of them and I would get it. Now, Nico gets all the attention that I was getting and I was not ok with it. But, once I realized that my dads and uncles could pay us all special attention, I started to not care that Nico was here. Dad would take me out on a special walk just the two of us sometimes and I still get all the attention from my fan club when we go for our walk. There is so much love in this house that I cannot believe that I was worried I would be forgotten. It must be from my past life that would make me feel like they would abandon me. But I know now that I do not need to worry about that ever again. They all love me just as much as I love all of them. We are a family, all of us, including Nico.

Welcome home, Nico. Welcome Home!
