MEET MIKEY
(from the video above)
Mikey is a handsome young dog, rescued as a stray alongside his buddy, Felicity. During Mikey's temperament test, he was mellow and friendly to the other dog, wagging his tail and sitting down to be sniffed. Mikey is a medium-energy dog ready to jumpstart his second chance in a happy home. He was living on the streets before his rescue and can use some help mastering his leash-walking and learning all about life in a loving home. Apply today to bring Mikey home!
All dogs will be altered, microchipped, and receive age-appropriate vaccines prior to adoption. Please note that the listed location for this dog may not be accurate due to technical limitations of this database and we have transportation options available within 6 hours of NYC (so don't let location hold you back)!
Interested in fostering or adopting? Need more info on this dog? The first step in the process is filling out an application on our website.
Not what you were looking for? You can adopt a different pet by using our search feature and adjusting the radius. Thank you for helping our animal shelters and rescue groups with pet adoption.
Transporting dogs is our passion but passions come at a cost. With the cost of everything increasing, (gas, tolls, supplies, etc) we could use some help! If you can, we would graciously accept some donation assistance. Venmo or PayPal @dalind31 THANK YOU!!

π¨ When Silence Speaks Volumes Every rescuer has met one — the dog who doesn’t bark, wag, or move. The one who hides in the back of the crate and flinches at kindness. It’s not defiance. It’s self-protection . Even gentle gestures can feel threatening because their nervous system hasn’t caught up to the fact that they’re finally safe. Safety is new territory — and it takes time to believe in it. You might see signs like: Freezing when approached or touched Avoiding eye contact Ignoring food or play Remaining motionless for hours This is a survival response — their way ...
For years, the beagles at Ridglan Farms knew only confinement. They were bred inside a Wisconsin facility that supplied beagles for biomedical research. According to recent reporting, rescue groups have now reached an agreement to transfer 1,500 beagles out of Ridglan Farms and into the hands of organizations that can begin the long process of medical care, decompression, and rehoming. Fifteen hundred lives that, until now, were defined not by family, comfort, or freedom, but by cages, control, and survival. For many of these dogs, the first touch of kindness, the first soft bed, the first grassy patch beneath their paws, and the first quiet car ride toward safety are happening only now. ( People.com ) And that is what makes this moment so powerful. This is not just a rescue story. It is a reckoning. Ridglan Farms has operated for decades as a breeding and researc...
